About StEL

Almost 20 years ago, to be precise on October 17th, 1988, the student group StAL (Studenten overleg Alternatieve Landbouw, Alternative agriculture students council), now known as StEL, was formed.

StEL means "Studentenoverleg Ecologische Landbouw", and is the association of students attached to Organic Agriculture at Wageningen University. Beside that, it is open to former students and outsiders as well.

From 2001 to 2011 StEL was an officially registered and WUR-supported student association, most associated with the Organic Farming Systems Group.

Currently our most important task is networking, including interesting information from the organic sector to share within our network. We create a Wageningen Organic infomail (between weekly and bi-weekly) and a worldwide Organic Infomail (about once a month). We encourage everybody to become part of our LinkedIn Group, where we also post our worldwide Organic Infomail.

Besides sharing information, StEL organizes excursions and activities related to organic and sustainable farming and similar topics.

Starting from February 2011, the formal task of  'StEL' as study association has been taken over by Semper Florens

Since April 2011: With support of StEL, the  Wageningen Students Beekeepers are emerging.
